EAT LOCAL CHALLENGE - THURSDAY

Address: 563 King Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29403

After moving to Charleston in 2015, the boutique burger bar and ping pong lounge, HōM, was one of the first places to really make us feel at home. We've gone HōM (hah) for late ping-pong battles, restaurant takeovers like "The Get Down" (yes, that red picture), and the happiest of happy hours. The restaurant keeps our favorite burgers while updating to include the tastiest new creations

Returning to HōM for our #EatLocalChallenge was a no brain-er after viewing the new spring cocktail menu. Because everyone needs a nice, strong cocktail to help make it through one more day. Our favorite bartender Wilson not only concocted the spring drinks we needed, he even gave us the recipes for how to make them at home.

WHAT WE LOVE FOR YOU

The variety HōM has to offer is the reason we keep coming back for more and more. Why yes, we'd love to play connect four whilst eating an order of crack tots. And of course we'd enjoy a battle of ping pong after sipping on one of their six all local draft brews. This new cocktail menu, however, is what we had to try ... immediately.

For our first round, Michael selected the Walnut Old Fashioned, which is made with toasted walnut infused Makers Mark, walnut bitters, orange and maple syrup. Let us tell y'all - this drink is strong. A perfect first choice. Ian went with his favorite local draft, Coast HopArt, before diving into the cocktails.

The second round was bright and refreshing - a reoccurring theme throughout our #EatLocalChallenge. Michael ordered the Strawberry Basil Gin with muddled strawberries, basil, lemon, Cocchi Americano and gin. Michael always loves a good gin drink and this did not disappoint. Ian went with a Hibiscus Margarita, which was truly as delicious as it was beautiful. In our eyes, anytime you add Espolón Silver to the equation, the answer is always right.

HōM does more than great food and unique cocktails, it also tries out creative ideas to get the community involved, such as hosting Charleston's first Tater Tot Crawl this Saturday to settle the debate of who has the best tater tots in the Holy City (HōM's got our vote!).

Y'all. These cocktails will keep us sane once the Charleston heat arrives. Cure your cocktail craving right from your own HōM, because I Love That For You.

Don't forget to visit us tomorrow to see where we cross the finish line of our #EatLocalChallenge.
