7 BEST TOOLS TO MANAGE YOUR MONEY

Today, we’re opening up and getting more vulnerable than ever. As you know, we always mention how we have no idea what we’re doing as we try to “figure it all out.” What we still haven’t even come close to figuring out is managing our money.

Name a poor money decision, we’ve made it. Every bad choice related to money and we’ve experienced the consequences. Some, a result of the situation out of our control. Others, completely controlled poor choice disasters. It’s not all bad because each terrible decision taught us a great deal and what to stay away from, such as payday loans (not a fun lesson).

On our journey to figure it all out, we’ve used seven tools and apps to help adjust how we think about money to secure a more solid future. Y’all ready to get financially smart? Because I Love That For You.

MINT

The ultimate budgeting app. Mint updates and categorizes transactions automatically so you can see a picture of your spending in real-time. Track your bills and even set budgets for an alert when you’re close to topping out.

Why I Love That For You: Mint comes with a free credit score, which we love. We can track our progress and see what we need to work on.

ACORNS

The inventive savings app. Acorns automatically pockets the change from each swiped transaction linked to a card and deposits it into an * investment portfolio diversified with exchange-traded funds. The asterisk notates where we kind of get lost, but we know it does make saving mindless.

Why I Love That For You: For those who do not have saving at the top of their mind or lack the control to save when possible (ahem…us), this is a great resource to get you started.

POCKETGUARD

The simple budgeting app. PocketGuard tells you the one thing you want to know: how much is left for spending. It accounts for bills, savings goals, and spending to calculate how much money is available.

Why I Love That For You: What we love most is how PocketGuard can show us the money “in our pocket” for the day, week, or month. It really reins us in.

PRISM

The bills HQ of apps. Prism shows you account balances as well as all bills in one app. You can even pay your bills directly from the app or schedule payment for later.

Why I Love That For You: Honestly, we have so many bills, it’s easy to lose track. Prism sends us a notification of an upcoming bill and syncs it to our calendars. Never miss a bill again.

ALBERT

The bills HQ of apps. Prism shows you account balances as well as all bills in one app. You can even pay your bills directly from the app or schedule payment for later.

Why I Love That For You: Honestly, we have so many bills, it’s easy to lose track. Prism send us a notification of an upcoming bill and syncs to our calendars. Never missing a bill again.

ROBINHOOD

The beginner investor app. Robinhood is a free-trading app ideal for investors who want to trade stocks, options, exchange-traded funds and cryptocurrency without paying commissions or fees. If you have no idea how to “invest,” then start with Robinhood and $20 for a quick way to learn.

Why I Love That For You: TBH we found out about Robinhood from The Morning Toast (yes, we’re Toasters). It’s taught us so much about trading stocks. Highly suggest.

TRUEBILL

The subscription killing app. Truebill is truly amazing. The app will review your bills and negotiate the lowest possible price with the company, it monitors your subscriptions, and notifies you of service outages for refunds.

Why I Love That For You: Confession. We are active subscription addicts to those offering free-trials. Truebill has saved us countless times in reminding us to cancel before being charged, which has saved us SOOOO much money.

We hope at least one of these helps y’all to set yourself up for a more comfortable future. Thank y’all for always staying on this journey as we try to “figure it all out,” because #ILoveThatForYou.
